Motors began brightly and took the lead after just nine minutes, when the former Manchester City youngster raced after a long punt upfield from Lee Furlong, to defty head beyond the out-rushing Alfreton keeper Jamie Green. The visitors then struck back with purpose. Kris Bowler struck a sweet volley against the crossbar and shortly after, unmarked Town striker Brian Cusworth stopped to head home an equaliser on 20 minutes. And nine minutes later, Furlong produced the ammunition for Taylor to strike again, beating Green with a delightful lob, as the keeper attempted to close down the angle. Lake, Moogan, Page (McMahon 46), Griffiths, Holmes, Field, Garrity, Furlong, Wright (Smith 60), Johnson, Taylor. Subs not used: Longrigg, Nesbitt, Johnston. |
