With Vauxhall Blues topping group B with 15 points (with victories over Ellesmere Port Rangers, Princes Villa, Rossway United Reds & Eastham Rangers and draws with Blacon, Neston Nomads & Peninsula Stars) and Vauxhall Whites finishing 4th in group A the scene was set for an all Vauxhall quarter-final as the Blues met Whites.

It was a pity that the teams had to meet each other at this stage but it was the Blues that eventually secured a 2-0 win thanks to goals by Jordan and Liam to set up a semi-final against a very strong Ysceifiog Wolves team.

A tense semi-final was an end to end affair with both sides hitting the woodwork and both keepers making vital saves. 0-0 was the score at full-time and remained so after golden goal extra time. The penalty shoot-out swung one way then the other, but after 2 excellent stops by Jarrod, it was left to Toby to deservedly send Vauxhall into the final 4-2 on penalties to meet old foes and neighbours, Ellesmere Port Rovers.

The final again was a tight encounter with both sides playing some exciting football but Connor’s single strike was sufficient to secure a hard earned win for Vauxhall.

Well done boys some excellent performances by both teams over the day were very much in evidence and they should all be proud of the way they played and represented the club.
